Bert Berg doing a handstand on a pile of soil

Bert Berg

Bert creates circus projects that use a wordless & intimate nature in which a world blossoms open between the audience and the player(s). His unique way of mixing handstand, dance and fascination with ‘the small’ are often the basic ingredients.

Since 2017, Bert has been creating performances, acts and choreographic work that we collectively dive into. From a Zen garden of more than 2,500 mousetraps to a spastic acrobatic journey in a Dogville living room, or from constellations made out of trash to choreographies based on Butoh principles.

In late 2024, Exticate was born. A new project that invites people into a darker universe through a circus performance & participatory decompression-sessions to feel an ‘ode to the greatness of the small’ in ourselves and the world.

Alongside this, Bert is touring with circus company Dels Altres in 2025 with the production ‘Verde Casi Negro’ (ES) and performing his solo ‘A Futile Act of Domestication’ at various venues inside and outside Belgium.
